A visit with Red's side of the family

Red's dad usually comes down twice a year for a month or so at a time. He usually comes in the spring around Easter and the fall around Thanksgiving. He'll stay with us for a week or 2 then head down to Savannah and Florida to visit a few friends. Then he'll stop on his way back through and stay with us for another couple of days. We love having him here (Linda when she comes, especially at Thanksgiving!!) and it's always a relaxing and enjoyable time.

This year, on his way back through he stayed another week as this was at the same time that our cousins Liz, Jenn, & JP came to visit. Liz & Jenn came to visit last year and we did alot of touristy stuff like the World of Coke, Centennial Olympic Park and Six Flags. BTW - The World of Coke was awesome, we highly recommend it if you want to pay to be advertised to for 2-3 hours. In all seriousness though, it's worth it - so fun to look back at all the memorabilia. Anyway, here are a few pictures for you from our time together.

We had a great visit. Jenn was very pregnant with little Maggie (who arrived on August 7) so she just relaxed and watched us play Wii bowling & golf...ALOT.

Here's Dad

Here's JP (yes he's always that silly)

Since JP wasn't with us last year we wanted to do a few things to help him feel like he had "experienced Atlanta". We decided to take in a Braves game and drive around the city before heading to the Varsity. Note to self for future reference - don't let Redonna just "drive" around Atlanta. To say we ended up in some sketchy places is putting it mildly. Picture this: 7 adult very white folks from West Virginia (I'm lumping David into this group) in a mini-van with Alabama tags driving through the heart of the ghetto. Yeah, I think I'm banned from driving in downtown...

Martin was voted our favorite player - we nicknamed him "crazy eyes"

Liz & I enjoying the game - the Braves won!

One of Dad's closest friends Tom also joined us for the weekend. We went to see a comedy show at the Punchline and before hand stopped to eat at Spaghetti Warehouse. This used to be one of my favorite places in Norfolk, so it was fun to eat there again. Here we all are at dinner.
