Where does one begin?

I guess I always thought I'd have something really profound to write about before I started a blog, but I think I'll succumb to the peer pressure (as I did in getting active on Facebook - thanks Lacey!) and just start. No fireworks or anything...I've just had the space reserved forever so I might as well use it. =)

Expectations for myself will be pretty high since I harass folks who don't keep up with their blogs on a regular basis... I guess I'll have to start slow and just try to post something weekly that will let folks know what's up with us down here in HOT-lanta...

So the next few posts will give a brief update to catch you up on what's been new with us the last 6 months. To start though, here's what we've been up to lately...

We have had several weekends at home over the last few months which is always nice and appreciated. Not only do we get to sleep well, in our own bed, but we get to catch up on our "list"...you know the master, ever growing, itemized & detailed list of "what we want to accomplish to make our home really what we want it to be" list. It's always nice to get to cross stuff off of that list - like a weight has been lifted. So our first project was outside. We FINALLY finished our flower beds. Officially, we planted the final plants on July 23 on a trellis in place of a tree that David has hated since we moved in. We (well mostly David...) have been working on them since we moved in over 3 years ago. I guess the push came from the youth group fundraiser in early June. We hired 2 kids to come over and help us work in the flower beds. What child labor laws - hello!?! So it was oppressive 85+ degree weather and we were in the sun...we gave them plenty of water, sunscreen & bug spray - then let them play Wii Tennis and eat Taco Bell. A Balance? I think so. Either way they at least they made good money to help them go on their trip.

Inside, I have been working diligently on cleaning out my photo albums and tossing bad pictures and pictures from my lifetime that contain folks I no longer remember. I know there is importance to keeping up with the memories, but if I can't chronicle the who, what and where of a picture, it's just not worth keeping. I'm over half way done, so that's progress! We don't even have children yet and in just real images I have tens of thousands of images, that doesn't even include all the electronic files I have. Thank God for digital! Now I only print and album the images I really love - far fewer than the actual number of images I take. =)

Other than that we've just been working on our side businesses, more of that to come later. Enjoy the recap!
